Apr. 30th, 2007 @ 09:18 pm F#%k You Fox Network!!
Why do I even bother to watch the network?
They make great shows and then cut them if they can't match American Idol!

Man Nathan must be seeing a pattern here.

BIBLE STUDY
Laura Schlessinger is a US radio personality, who dispenses advice to
people who call in to her Radio show. On her radio show recently, she
said that, as an observant Orthodox Jew, homosexuality is an
abomination, according to Leviticus 18:22 and cannot be condoned under
any circumstance.

The following response is an open letter to Dr. Laura, penned by a US
resident, which was posted on the Internet. It's funny, as well as
thought-provoking.

Dear Dr. Laura:

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law.

I have learned a great deal from your show, and try to share that
knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the
homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus
18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination...End of debate.

I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some other elements
of God's Laws and how to follow them.

1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and
female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend
of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can
you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in
Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair
price for her?

3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her
period of menstrual uncleanness -Lev.15: 19-24. The problem is how do I
tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offence.

4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a
pleasing odour for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is, my neighbours.
They claim the odour is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

5. I have a neighbour who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus
35:2. clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated
to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?

6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an
abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality.
I don't agree. Can you settle this? Are there 'degrees' of abomination?

7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have
a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does
my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle-room here?

8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair
around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by
Lev.19:27. How should they die?

9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me
unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different
crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of
two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to
curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the
trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16.
Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we
do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

I know you have studied these things extensively and thus enjoy
considerable expertise in such matters, so I am confident you can help.

Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and
unchanging.

Ok as per usual it takes a direct prod to get me to post so here it is.

Ground Rules: The first player of this "game" starts with the topic "Five Weird Habits of Yourself" and people who get tagged need to write an LJ entry about their five weird habits as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose the next five people to be tagged and list their names.

5) I talk to other drivers in traffic as if they can hear me. "That's ok Mr. Ford driver, signal lights are for lesser men"

4) I carry on third person conversations with my self.

3) I scrunch my face up when writing by hand for any lenth of time.

2) I have the navigational prowess of of a blind drunk, coconut laded, swallow.

1) I consider the bastardizification of the English language a l33t skill.

You scored as Chaotic Good. A Chaotic Good person is someone who has little intrinsic respect for laws or authority, seeing them as insufficient to sustain what's right. These people work according to their own moral compass which, while good, is not necessarily always aligned with that of society. Despite their chaotic tendancies, these people are good at heart.

About this Entry
Sep. 10th, 2004 @ 09:26 pm A light that burns twice as bright
Nebula

Never has such a little shadow ever shed such light,
never have two pools of black ever shone so bright.
With a temperament of patience and a look of subtle fright
my little ebon cuddle pig upon the bridge alights.

I wanted to create a great long prose about my beloved Nebbie, but I can’t find any words to convey the effect this little creature had on me. So gentle and calming. She would sit patiently on your lap as you petted her, content to remain, with out bribes of grass or food. Happy to share her calm with you. There are few more calming peaceful feeling than the one’s instilled by the gentle coo of a small ball of fur curled up on your lap. To know that I can never again share those particular moments with my little Nebbie pains me so much, I know she lived a good life, if all to short, and no Guinea Pig could hope for a better home or care than Pam provides. Still it’s far far to short! I keep hearing the “Light that burns twice as bright” quote in my mind’s ear but it does not dull the pain. I am so great full I got the chance to see her one last time the eve before she passed. Her appetite was gone and much of the shine had left her eyes but I could still see so much of her there and was so sure she would pull through. The little ones have so little time.
May the little silver star guide your way Nebbie, thank you for your time with us. You are loved and missed. So very very much.

Current Mood: melancholy
As I went to check on my hamster, Sketch after game tonight, as I always do each night. I was denied the annoyed little glare he always gives me as I remove the night cover on his sleeping dome. There have been many time where I had to look very closly to see him breathing ot tap the top to get the look. But this time neither. I think I knew as I approached but defaulted to the routine anyway. But no.... Sketch had left us, poor little guy. He had been fighting hard since the bout of dehydration but they are some fights are too much for the little ones.

I wish I had taken more time to spend with him, I mean evey night I would stir him if he was sleeping or open the cage if he wasn't and handle him for at least a few minutes. But with the cats about Other than occasional time in the ball his life was spent stumbling around his little cage. I don't know if he was happy, I know he was not healthy near the end but at 4 plus years I suppose age was a factor as much as any thing.

I ask Chub, Chelsy and Legacy to wait for him at the bridge, he'll be coming soon. He'll be the one walking with a little stagger and looking confused please take better care of him than I could.
